Kishin?
Kishin…
It comes from a series that I watched and later read; but didn’t realize how much it spoke to me and my art until I had to think about why I create.
It was a simple manga with intense fights, unique characters/world and deep interpersonal drama, like a good shonen series should. Unlike most fighting cartoons meant for teenage boys; its main antagonist was a mindset… Madness. Madness wasn’t looney bin crazy but the foregoing of norms to achieve freedom, often to the detriment of those who indulge.
It was this concept of Madness freed me from the notion that I have to have a rhyme or reason to express myself, I don’t they’re just lines. These are just lines that have no purpose other than to lead to the next line.
My Madness was scribbling on any surface that would let, stepping back and being amazed at the talent God gave me and the OdD way I look at the paradise he gave us.
I’m OdD but you can call me Kishin, the founder and main artist at Kishin Arts.
I have been drawing since I could hold a crayon and as an “adult” my past time consist of me drawing and writing. My main goal is to create fictions that influence others the same way Spider-man, Soul eater, Power Rangers, and many others have shaped my worldview. Outside of my comics I love to do concept work, expression of my personality and tattoos.
Once you get to know me, you’ll see why I go by OdD and why I have an affinity towards the idea of madness.
